Strode Music Students go Live

Fourteen young musicians, who are studying for a National Diploma in Music at Strode College, presented an evening of largely original material at the Orange Box in Yeovil recently.  It was the first gig to be presented by the college under the label 'Strode Live'.

A wide range of musical tastes were catered for as the gig featured the jazz quintet 'Sid Taylor's 'Taylor Made', eighties tribute rock from Chris Cox's Copperhead, and solo singer/songwriters were well represented with Chelsea Paget, Hollie Trevis, Jorden Lindsay and Tom Rotheram.  A special one-off Ska band was formed for the night before the evening was rounded off in style by local band JackFlash, featuring Strode students Jake Ball, Dan Canvin, Nathan Askill, Luke Holbrook and Jorden Lindsay.
Daniel Shaw, Strode College's Music Lecturer said: "The students presented a smooth and polished evenings entertainment with Orange Box staff complimenting them on how well they had organised the event.  They played to an audience of about 80 and it was great to see people from the local schools where our students had performed earlier in the year."
